Haley Thomas, MS, LMHC is a therapist who utilizes a blend of psychotherapeutic techniques--including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method--to help individuals, couples, and families. Her approach emphasizes a person-centered and strengths-based dynamic to better understanding and regulating emotion, managing stress, and challenging and restructuring maladaptive thoughts and beliefs.
In addition, Ms. Thomas has a passion for working with those within LGBTQ+ populations and aims to establish a nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship in which her patients may feel safe to explore these areas. Ms. Thomas also provides group therapy at South Florida Integrative Medicine, through which she aims to help her patients increase their self-esteem and find supportive connections with others. She speaks with students, parents and teachers at schools throughout Miami and online on topics related to her areas of specialty in mental health including inclusivity, diversity, and building self-esteem.
Ms. Thomas completed her graduate training at Florida International University’s Master of Science Professional Counseling Psychology program in 2018. She worked with Florida International University’s Center for Children and Families to supervise their Afterschool Treatment Program, which provides behavioral treatment to elementary age children who have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and/or Autism.
