Giovanna Shaffer, MS, RMHCI, Ms. Shaffer completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology at Florida International University in 2022. She has a professional background in Behavior Analysis and training experience in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and ongoing training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Ms. Shaffer works with children who have diagnoses of Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) as well as adolescents, teenagers and young adults. She also works with patients who have diagnoses of bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and trauma. Ms. Shaffer works with patients in both English and Spanish languages for in person and Telehealth appointments.
In her spare time Ms. Shaffer enjoys Zumba, practicing mindfulness, reading, spending time with her children, and playing with her two dogs. She moved to Miami as a young child from Colombia and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
